Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN is inspired by the globally popular FOX television series from menu to design. Guests will feel like they have stepped on set when they walk through the doors of the two-story space at The Wharf, the remarkable, mile-long stretch along the Potomac River.
The restaurant’s menu includes Chef Ramsay’s signature classics like Beef Wellington, the HELL’S KITCHEN Burger and Sticky Toffee Pudding. The bar serves a selection of both classic and signature cocktails; from a traditional Negroni and Old Fashioned to the innovative Smoke on the Boulevard, served in a lantern adorned with dry ice or the Notes from Gordon, complete with a personalized message from Chef Ramsay himself.
The 14,802 square-foot restaurant will have a two-level layout including a ground-floor patio and second-floor 800 square-foot dining terrace. The interior is inspired by the rich and notable history of Washington, D.C. Being located in the city where tradition is challenged with new thoughts and ideas, the design is intended to articulate this meeting of minds within the built environment. Classic materials such as stone and wood are given the opportunity to be reinvented with modern lines for a timeless aesthetic. Contemporary forms breathe new life into aged motifs. Bold use of color represents the dichotomy between young versus old and traditional versus contemporary, and sets the stage for the ultimate competition between team red versus team blue.
