Fall in Washington, DC - Guide to Events, Attractions and Things to Do This Autumn in DC

Dear Members,

With all five DC pro sports teams currently in action, it’s a great time to be a sports fan in the District. We’re excited to cheer on the Washington Nationals throughout the MLB postseason. Next summer, we’ll have another chance to show off to the baseball world, as we will proudly host the 89th MLB All-Star Game on July 17, 2018 at Nationals Park and All-Star Week festivities throughout the city from July 13-17.

This week brings two monumental events for the nation’s capital: The Wharf opens tomorrow along the Southwest Waterfront, with celebratory events continuing throughout the weekend and the Freer and Sackler galleries reopen after extensive renovations with the IlluminAsia Festival this Saturday and Sunday. Furthermore, next month will bring the grand opening of the Museum of the Bible on Nov. 17. We are promoting each event throughout web content, editorial support and live on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Fall content continues to shine on washington.org, and we’ve added some spooky Halloween fun. You can also read up on ways to make the most of the season, where to find fall foliage and seasonal flavors throughout the District and things to do this month.

Read on for more information about current events and programs, recent media coverage and more. Also, make sure to review our monthly visitor statistics and to check out upcoming events and conventions in the On the Road & What's in Town section.

Kind regards,

Elliott L. Ferguson, II
