Situated in DC’s oldest firehouse, Sixth Engine features refined American fare, signature cocktails and over 40 craft beers. This neighborhood gem was conceived by five long-serving DC restaurateurs and longtime friends: Jeremy Carman, Gavin Coleman, Paul Holder, Paul Madrid and Tim Walsh, who are also the names behind Town Hall in Glover Park and The Dubliner on Capitol Hill.
Consisting of two distinct floors and an expansive outdoor patio during the warmer months, Sixth Engine offers something for everyone. The ground floor bar whips up fantastic pre-prohibition style cocktails in a true American pub setting. Get cozy in a booth and watch your favorite team on one of five big screen TVs, or pony up to the bar and enjoy a single-barrel bourbon. In the mood for something a little more intimate? The upstairs dining room evokes another time with the original wood floors, windows and exposed brick from the Adolf Cluss designed firehouse, which dates back to 1855 - undoubtedly one of the most unique dining or private event venues in all of DC.
Able to accommodate intimate gatherings or parties of up to 200 guests, Sixth Engine prides itself in being a top-notch private event destination. Whether it’s a rehearsal dinner or a corporate buy out, Sixth Engine will always deliver a phenomenal experience with attention paid to every detail.
Sixth Engine is open for dinner seven days a week, and for DC’s Best Casual Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
